- Identify (30-52) uppercase and lower case letters.
- Distinguish rhyming and non-rhyming words.
- Produce (12-23) consonant sounds.
- Reads 15 or more sight words. (Not graded on first quarter report card.)
- Reads emergent-reader texts: Independent Level A
- Asks and answers questions about key details in a fiction story.
- Retells stories by identifying characters, setting, and major events.
- Describe how illustrations relate to the story.

The student will be able to:
- Count to 50 by ones.
- Count 10 objects saying the number names in the standard order, and pairs each object with one number name.
- Name 2-D shapes: squares, circles, triangles, rectangles, hexagons
- Name 3-D shapes: cones, cylinders, spheres, and cubes
- Analyze and compare 2-D and 3-D shapes in different sizes and orientations.
- Classify objects into given categories. (Sort by size, shape, color).
Science
The student will be able to:
- Obtain, evaluate, & communicate information to describe objects in terms of the materials they are made of & their physical attributes.
Social Studies
The student will be able to:
- Explain that a map is a drawing of a place and a globe is a model of earth.
